Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor breathed his last today. He was 67 years old ad was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 for which he had undergone extensive treatment last year in New York. The actor worked in several films over the years with numerous leading ladies of all generations. However, one co-star stood out from his repertoire who had made his debut film with Rishi in the film Deewana in 1992 and it was none-other-than Shah Rukh Khan. The film had late Divya Bharti as the female lead.
SRK never looked back after he debuted with Deewana but today he shared an extremely emotional and heartfelt tribute for Rishi on social media. King Khan wrote, “On the first day of my shoot, he sat for my scene to finish after pack up, then with that famously radiant smile on his face he said, ‘yaar tujhme energy bahut hai’. That day in my head I became an actor. Few months ago I met him and thanked him for accepting me in that movie, he had no idea how he had encouraged me.” He further added, “Few men have the capacity for grace as he did, fewer still have the large heartedness of feeling genuine happiness for the success of others. I will miss him for his gentle pat on my head every time we met. I will keep it in my heart always as the ‘Ashirwaad’ that made me what I am today.”
Shah Rukh’s tearful goodbye is a testimony to the greatness of the heart that Rishi embodied. With his passing, we have genuinely lost a remarkable human being and a great actor. RIP Rishi Kapoor!
