On February 14 last year, India faced a major setback after 44 CRPF jawans in Pulwama district in Jammu & Kashmir lost their lives owing to a terrorist attack. The rage of one of the deadliest terror attacks was all over the country and owing to this, Bollywood collectively decided to ban Pakistani artists from working in the Indian showbiz industry. Several film associations like Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE), Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA), All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) extended their support to the decision and made sure that the ban is implemented strictly. However, despite warnings and issuing a circular, certain Indian artists allegedly collaborated with Pakistani celebrities. Addressing the same, the Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE), yesterday, issued a notice to all Indian musicians, singers, artists and technicians for 'violation of the non-cooperation circular'.
The notice of 'Violation of Non-cooperation Circular' was released after reports did the rounds that Indian musicians 'worked online with singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan of Pakistan'. FWICE further condemned the incident without naming anyone and told that the 'Non-Cooperation Circular' which was issued during the rising political tension between the two countries, is still valid. They further warned Indian musicians and artists to refrain from collaborating with Pakistani public figures and said if the rule is broken, the person will be subject to disciplinary action.

After the Pulwama attack and the rising tension between India and Pakistan, Bollywood celebrities like Diljit Dosanjh, Salman Khan and others cancelled their shows in the neighbouring country. Singer Mika Singh was banned for planning to perform at a wedding in Karachi. However, after an apology, the ban was lifted.
