Akshay Kumar's 'Prithviraj' under Karni Sena's scanner, demands to read the script issuing a green signal

Akshay Kumar, with Prithviraj, is all set to tell the tale of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan who stood strong and battled against Muhammad of Ghor and his ruthless invaders of India. While the shoot of the film is underways, it came under the scanner of the infamous Rajput Karni Sena. The national president of the wing, Mahipal Singh Makrana, on Saturday, stalled Prithviraj's shoot that is taking place in Gopalgarh village in Jamwa Ramgarh tehsil near Jaipur for a few hours. Mahipal along with 100 members of the wing went to meet the director Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi demanding to read the script before the Akshay starrer is filmed. In an interview with a leading daily, Mahipal told that to rule out the chances of showcasing Samrat Prithviraj in a bad light, the Sena met Dwivedi. He further added that they don't intend to vandalise the sets or cause harm to anyone but just want the script to be read by a panel of experts and historians. Confirming that the director has assured cooperation, Mahipal said they will not allow the shoot to take place until they are satisfied.

“We went to meet Dwivedi to ensure that they don’t put our warrior in a bad light. We don’t want to vandalise the set or cause harm to anyone. We want the makers to share the script with us. We have a panel of experts and historians who will go through the script before the film is shot. Until we are satisfied we will not let the shooting happen, either in Rajasthan or in any part of the country. We want to make sure that the makers don’t distort facts for the purpose of entertainment. Dwivedi has assured us of cooperation and we will contact them in a day or two,” Mahipal told the daily.
