Looks like Katrina Kaif is all set to work with her 'dream director' Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actress was snapped at SLB's office on Friday. Her visit came two days after SLB's fave actress Deepika Padukone visited his office. At first, there were rumours about the trio collaborating for a brand new project. But now, according to reports in a leading daily, Kat will be seen in a lavishly-mounted dance number in his upcoming period drama, Gangubai Kathiawadi.
The film features Alia Bhatt in the titular role of brothel madam in Kamathipura in the 1950s. Katrina, who is known for her impeccable dance moves, has earlier featured in songs like Chikni Chameli (Agneepath), Sheila Ki Jawani (Tees Maar Khan) and Kala Chashma (Baar Baar Dekho) to name a few. The song is supposed to be shot in the city in a fortnight’s time.
Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on a brothel madam from the red light area, Kamathipura in Mumbai. She is said to have changed the face of the region and is one of the most remembered women from the history of Mumbai. Gangubai is believed to have been pushed into prostitution at a very young age and became the most influential pimp, having served several renowned criminals from the city. The film is inspired by a chapter from the book Mafia Queens Of Mumbai.
Gangubai Kathiawadi will be directed by Sanjay, who will also co-produce the film with Jayantilal Gada of Pen India Ltd. It will release on September 11, 2020, and well, it will be exciting to see Kat's special song in the film.
