Ajay Devgn’s ‘Maidaan’ gets a new release date, to hit screens one week after Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Brahmastra’

Ajay Devgn’s sports-drama film Maidaan based on the life and times of legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim has changed its release date. The film was earlier scheduled to release on November 27 but has now been pushed to December 11. The film’s new release date was released along with two posters, one showing Ajay in his football coach avatar and the other featuring his team as well.

The film will now give tough competition to Ranbir Kapoor’s, Alia Bhatt’s and Amitabh Bachchan’s Brahmastra that is scheduled to release on December 4, 2020. Brahmastra is directed by Ayan Mukerji and is the first installment in a trilogy. With Maidaan releasing one week later than Brahmastra, December sure looks a very lucrative month for cinegoers.

Brahmastra’s release date was announced yesterday on social media by the lead actors and the director. Now, it remains to be seen how the two films pan out especially since neither wants to clash with each other.
