Twitter spots similarities between Vicky Kaushal's 'Bhoot' and a scene from Malayalam film 'Jallikattu', sarcastically says, 'what an original thought'

With Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship, Vicky Kaushal is all set to venture into the horror spectrum. While the film, ever since its announcement, had managed to generate the right amount of curiosity, interesting posters added to the exhilaration before the teaser release today. As fans were left quite impressed with the posters filled with enigma, Twitter users were quick to notice the similarity between a scene in the Malayalam superhit Jallikattu and one of the posters. Moments later, Twitter wasted no minute and flagged off a troll fest on the platform.

The poster that features Vicky making an attempt to escape when surrounded by the paranormal drew resemblance to Lijo Jose Pellissery directorial that won critical acclaim. In response to this, one of the Twitter users wrote, "#Bhoot poster... Wow...What an original thought". Another user slammed Bollywood for not coming up with original content by commenting, "Will Bollywood ever think something original? shamelessly copied poster of Jallikattu" while one sarcastically stated, "Wow both of them look so different from each other".

Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship marks the directorial debut of Bhanu Pratap Singh and produced by Karan, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan. It is scheduled to release on February 21, 2020, and also stars Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role. The film is said to be the first part of the franchise and is set against the ruins of a ship. It is also touted to be based on a true incident that took place in Mumbai.
