Nora Fatehi replaces Parineeti Chopra in Ajay Devgn's 'Bhuj: The Pride Of India'

PeepingMoon had informed its readers on November 12, 2019, that Parineeti Chopra had withdrawn her name from Ajay Devgn's Bhuj: The Pride Of India in which she was to play the role of a femme fatale named Heena Rahman. According to reports, Parineeti was keen to be a part of the war film but couldn't allot dates for the same.

A leading daily has now learned that Nora Fatehi has been roped in for the part in the Bhushan Kumar, Ginny Khanuja, Vajir Singh and Kumar Mangat Pathak production. According to a source close to the development, the makers unanimously agreed on Nora. “She came on board recently and has started attending workshops for her role with the director, also focussing on getting the body language of a spy right. She will start shooting after January 12, as part of the war-drama’s 15-day last schedule,” the source informed.

While speaking to a leading daily earlier, Nora had promised that after a series of special songs, she would be seen more as an actress on screen, starting with the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer Bharat. Last year, she featured in John Abraham’s Batla House and is now gearing up for Street Dancer 3D with Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor.

Bhuj: The Pride Of India is being directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya and stars Ajay with Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Rana Daggubati, Ammy Virk and Pranitha Subhash in important roles. Touted to be mounted on a budget of Rs. 100 crores, the war drama is produced by Ajay, Bhushan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ginny Khanuja, Vajir Singh, Abhishek Dudhaiya and Kumar Mangat Pathak under their respective film production banners of T-Series, Ajay Devgn Films and Select Media Holdings LLP. Bhuj: The Pride Of India will release on Independence Day 2020.
