First Look: Ishaan Khatter looks besotted with Tabu in the first still from Mira Nair’s series

The first look of Mira Nair directed series A Suitable Boy is out. The photo features Ishaan Khatter and Tabu. Ishaan is seen wearing a blue kurta and white pajama whereas Tabu can be seen in a yellow salwar kameez reclining on a swing. Ishaan shared the photo on his Instagram and captioned it, “A Suitable Boy, first look.”

Mira Nair’s series is adapted from Vikram Chandra’s bestseller novel of the same name. The plot follows Lata and her mother who wants to find a ‘suitable’ boy for her. It covers a period of 18 months and is set in the post-partition era.

A Suitable Boy’s screenplay is written by Andrew Davies. The series is backed by BBC and consists of six one-hour episodes. Besides Tabu and Ishaan, it also stars Rasika Dugal, Vivaan Shah, Tanya Maniktala and Shefali Shah among others in pivotal parts.
