A few days back pop icon Dr.Zeus had slammed Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bala makers of remaking his hit song Don’t Be Shy without seeking his permission for it. Badshah who had sung the song and written the lyrics as well apologized to him on social media but reiterated that the makers had indeed taken all official rights before the song was re-composed by music duo Sachin-Jigar.
Now, confirming about the rights, Karman Entertainment has released a statement about the song. Featuring Ayushmann, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam, the song Don’t Be Shy has been sung by Sachin-Jigar, Badshah, Shalmali Kholgade and Gurdeep Mehendi.
Here’s what the statement reads:
Karman Entertainment owns the worldwide rights to the song 'Don't Be Shy' by Rouge, the early 2000s classic dance hit, produced by Dr Zeus. Karman Entertainment gave an official license to Maddock Films for the re-creation rights of 'Don't Be Shy', which is featuring in Bala starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam and directed by Amar Kaushik. The song video went live on 18. of October and has received an overwhelming response globally. The video and the single itself was teased on social media a day prior and the fun banter between the composers, Badshah and the lead actor, Ayushmann had even/one in splits. Featuring music re-created by Sachin-Jigar and lyrics by Badshah and Mellow D, the video of this mane-ficent track has to be seen to be believed.
It has one wig-snatching moment (literally1) and what follows will be an encouraging moment for tress-stressed people everywhere. Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, Bala the film Is all about a man in deep distress over his baldness. Produced by Maddock Films the movie is slated for release on the 7. of Nov. Karman Entertainment is the UK based company which is the copyright owner of the original song 'Don't Be Shy' and have issued a legitimate license to Maddock Films to create a version for 'Bala'."
Bala deals with premature baldness and the stigma attached to it. The film is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan under his production banner Maddock Films. It is slated to release on November 7.
