Rajkummar Rao steps into Dharmendra's shoes for 'Chupke Chupke' remake, calls it a huge responsibility

It was earlier this year when reports of the remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's classic Chupke Chupke did the rounds. Buzz back then suggested Rajkummar Rao stepping into the shoes of Dharmendra as Dr. Parimal Tripathi. And now, confirming the news, Rajkummar, in an interview with a leading daily, told that the remake is currently in the scripting process and added that matching upto Hrishida's level seems to be a tough challenge. The actor, who is currently promoting his Diwali release titled Made In China, said reprising Dharmendra's role is a huge responsibility for him.

“It’s a big responsibility to step into his shoes. The scripting is underway now. We know that we can’t match Hrishida’s standard, but we will try and put our best foot forward,” Rajkummar told during the interview. As per reports, Luv Ranjan will be presiding over the director's chair for Chupke Chupke remake, while Bhushan Kumar is said to bankroll the project under his banner T-Series.
