Gunjan Saxena biopic: Janhvi Kapoor starrer’s first look to be unveiled tomorrow

Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions shared exciting news on social media today. The first look of the biopic on India's first Air Force woman officer, Gunjan Saxena who went to war during the Kargil strife was announced to be unveiled tomorrow. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor in the lead and has been in the works for some time now.

The makers shared a cool picture of Gunjan herself standing next to her chopper. The picture was shared with the caption, “We are proud to be telling the true story of Flight Lt. Gunjan Saxena, India's first Air Force woman officer who went to war - on the big screen. Stay tuned, first look coming up tomorrow morning!”

Gunjan helped rescue and evacuate injured soldiers from Kargil in 1999. She, along with fellow lieutenant Srividya Rajan, fought and faced the enemy fire and brought all soldiers safe home. For her bravery, she was honoured with the Shaurya Chakra, an Indian military decoration. The film is helmed by debutant director Sharan Sharma. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi who will be playing Janhvi’s father in the film as well as Angad Bedi.
