Casting agent Honey Trehan was supposed to direct Irrfan and Deepika Padukone for his directorial debut. However, the project did not materialise and Honey went on to direct a crime thriller, Raat Akeli Hai, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte. Now if a latest report in a leading daily is to go by, Honey has approached Nawaz and Irrfan for a two-hero project, an intense thriller.
The daily quoted a source as saying, "Now that the movie (Raat Akeli Hai) is wrapped up, the casting agent-turned-director has trained his focus on his next — an intense thriller with two male protagonists. Given the character sketch of the protagonists and the subject, he feels that Irrfan and Nawaz fit the bill perfectly." Apparently, Honey has already discussed the idea with both the actors and the two have reportedly agreed in principle. "Although Honey has begun the pre-production, the schedule will be chalked out after taking Irrfan's health into consideration. Further details will be worked out by next month," the source added.
Although Honey is yet to confirm the same, it would be a delight to watch Irrfan and Nawaz collaborate for a project, six years after The Lunchbox.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Irrfan has battled cancer and is currently shooting for Homi Adajania's Angrezi Medium in London. Nawaz, on the other hand, will be seen in Bole Chudiyan and season two of Netflix's web-series, Sacred Games.
