National Award winning director Madhur Bhandarkar is well-known for making realistic films. The filmmaker who is known for making films like Page 3, Fashion, Chandni Bar, Heroine and many others was rumoured to be making a film titled Main Bhi Chowkidar. The Bharatiya Janta Party led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had used the ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ punch line for its 2019 Lok Sabha elections campaign. However, the filmmaker has dismissed reports of making a film on the campaign and termed it as completely false.
Bhandarkar’s spokesperson rubbished the claims of the director making a film on the title Main Bhi Chowkidar and said, “The news is completely false. Would request people to confirm before filing or spreading such rumours."
Well, now the news is clear that the director will not be taking the film route to glorify the BJP campaign that swept the 2019 General elections and gave a clear majority to the Bharatiya Janta Party at the centre. However, we are waiting for the filmmaker to announce his next venture soon.
