Actress Urmila Matondkar, who forayed into politics by contesting as a Congress candidate from Mumbai North, has lost the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 against BJP's sitting lawmaker Gopal Shetty. Her star power could not work although people had a lot of expectations from her as a politician.

Known for her films like Rangeela (1995), Judaai (1997) and Mast (1999), she joined the Indian National Congress party in March this year.
