Katrina Kaif thinks her role in Bharat is incredible; Salman Khan thanks Priyanka Chopra for it

Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra were supposed to reunite on screen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat but the actress chose to walk out of the film citing her impending marriage to American singer-actor Nick Jonas. However, Salman never fails to take a dig at the actress’ exit from the film even though Ali has gone on record to say that he wasn’t stressed about her exit and in fact, he was the first one to break the news of her marriage on social media.

Today, at the Zinda song launch from Bharat, when Katrina Kaif who stepped into PeeCee’s shoes in the film was talking about how incredible her character in the film is, Salman once again interjected her and took a jibe at Priyanka and said, “Thank you, Priyanka." This made everyone laugh at poor PeeCee’s expense who had taken a call to put her personal life over her professional one. Salman thanked Priyanka for giving Katrina the best role of her career.

However, Katrina was gracious enough to explain how she came onboard the film. She said, “They were already about to begin the shoot of the film and as far as my knowledge, Priyanka Chopra was already in the film. Actually, it was Ali (Ali Abbas Zafar), he called me up and said ‘that there has been a change in the film and for some reasons Priyanka is no longer a part of the film, and I am sending you the script, just read it and react to it,’ and there was no pressure, there was nothing like ‘you’re a friend, I’m a friend’, he only asked me to react to the script. I read the script and I called up Ali and told him ‘this is your best script so far’, and I have read all his scripts. So I told him, ‘this is your best script, and this is an amazing character of the girl and I would love to be a part of it.”

Bharat is a remake of the Korean film Ode To My Father and also stars Tabu, Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, Sunil Grover, Sonali Kulkarni and Aasif Sheikh. The film is slated to release on June 5.
