Ayushmann Khurrana on Thursday shared the first motion poster of the sequel of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan titled Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan on his Instagram account.
The video shared by Ayushmann captures the evolution of love in cinema, and literature by citing examples of heterosexual love like Laila Majnu, Raj Simran. A while later, the video touches upon unspoken but prevalent love that is 'homosexual' love in nature. Calling the film as 'sau pratishat prakritik pyaar ki kahaani', a voice over drops a hint about the story of Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan. Although the video screams quirk and wit, the end disclaimer saying 'pyaar karna samajik tatvon ke adheen hai, kripya dil lagane se pehle dimag lagaye' has left us in splits. On May 6, PeepingMoon.com had exclusively reported that the sequel to Shubh Mangal Saavdhan was on cards starring Ayushmann and it will deal homosexual love stories. Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, a remake of Prasanna’s 2013 Tamil film Kalyana Samayal Saadham, addressed erectile dysfunction in a light-hearted manner.
Produced by Aanand L Rai, Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan will be directed by Hitesh Kewalya, who wrote the screenplay and dialogues for the first film. Announcement regarding the cast is yet to be made official.
Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdha is Valentines 2020 release.
