Shatrughan Sinha's wife Poonam Sinha is Samajwadi Party's Lok Sabha candidate from Lucknow and will take on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2019. And guess what? Her daughter and actress Sonakshi Sinha will head to Uttar Pradesh's capital city to campaign for her politician mother, as reported by a leading daily. Sonakshi, who is currently busy shooting for Dabangg 3 in Mumbai, will jet off to Lucknow today afternoon and take part in a roadshow.
"Sonakshi will leave for Lucknow this afternoon. She is slated to take part in the roadshow. The actor has been roped in for the final round as campaigning ends on Saturday, ahead of the polls on May 6," the daily quoted a source as saying. Since Congress has fielded spiritual guru Acharya Pramod Krishnam against Poonam, Sonakshi is apparently being roped in to not only attract the crowds but the votes as well.
Not to forget, Sonakshi had earlier stayed away from canvassing for her father Shatrughan Sinha during his electoral stints in 2009 and 2014 from Patna Sahib in Bihar. But it seems, she has changed her mind this time and will campaign for her mother in full swing. When asked, Sonakshi's spokesperson confirmed the news and we cannot wait to see Sonakshi seek vote for Poonam.
