For all those who are waiting to watch Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone together in a film, we have news for you. If a report in a leading daily is anything to go by, Deepika has been “meeting” filmmaker Anurag Basu for her “next project”. And, hold your breath for the best part because Anurag, as per the report, is interested in casting his “favourite actor” Ranbir opposite Deepika.

Well, of course, we do not have a confirmation on this report so far and neither have Deepika, Ranbir or Anurag responded to the news but we really, really hope it’s true. Deepika and Ranbir co-starred in 2008’s Bachna Ae Haseeno and reportedly dated for a while before separating around 2010.

Despite their break-up, Deepika and Ranbir maintained a cordial relationship and also co-starred in 2013’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and 2015’s Tamasha. Both also worked together in commercials apart from walking the ramp during a fashion show in 2018.

Also, if Ranbir ends up signing the film opposite Deepika, this will be his third film with the filmmaker after Barfi and Jagga Jasoos.

Ranbir Kapoor will appear next in Brahmastra while Deepika Padukone is currently filming Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak based on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal’s life.
