Varun Dhawan has postponed his engagement with girlfriend Natasha Dalal and is busy with his upcoming film Coolie No.1 at the moment, a leading daily reports, adding that the ceremony was supposed to be held on his birthday April 24.
Sources said that the plan was changed at the last moment after Varun left for Thailand to celebrate his birthday. “We heard the plan was to announce Coolie No. 1 and bring Varun’s girlfriend Natasha out on the stage as the bahu of the Dhawan family. But there were last-minute changes of plan and Varun flew out of the country for his birthday with his girlfriend,” the source told the daily.
As of now, Varun is considerably occupied with his schedule as he is filming Street Dancer 3D and will soon begin work on Coolie No.1. “Varun is very busy right now. He needs to take time off from his schedule and devote time to engagement and wedding. It will all happen in due course,” the source added.
Varun and Natasha are childhood friends and are dating since quite a long time. The actor confirmed his relationship with Natasha during his appearance on Koffee With Karan 6 and also said that he will marry her.
Coolie No. 1 is an adaptation of the 1995 film and casts Sara Ali Khan opposite Varun. The film will be directed by his father, filmmaker David Dhawan, who had also directed the original. In fact, it will also be the first production under the Dhawans’ home banner.
Varun Dhawan’s new film Kalank, co-starring Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit, released on April 17.
