Ranveer Singh shared a snippet from his training sessions for ’83 with the rest of the cast and crew and director Kabir Khan. In the one-minute clip, Ranveer and the boys are seen practicing cricket on the field and learning the fundamentals of the game. Cricket legend Kapil Dev also makes an appearance in the video while he also showed bowling techniques to Ranveer.
Apart from learning the nuances of cricket, the video also features Ranveer working out at the gym. “Now Kapil Sir is coming. We all better look like we know how to play cricket,” Ranveer said in the video. Seems like a lot of fun, for sure. “The incredible untold story of India’s greatest victory,” reads Ranveer’s caption of the video while he also mentioned the release date of the film, April 10, 2020.

Ranveer and his team are training in Dharamshala under the guidance of Balvinder Singh Sandhu and Mohinder Amarnath. ’83 also stars Ammy Virk, Saqib Saleem and Chirag Patil. Ranveer has been cast as Kapil Dev in the film.
'83 follows how, under captain Kapil Dev, the Indian cricket team defeated West Indies in the final of the World Cup in 1983. It tracks the coming-of-age of not just a cricketing team but of a young nation in the eyes of the world.
