Kangana Ranaut’s Mental Hai Kya and Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh will clash at the box office as both films will release on the same date, June 21. Mental Hai Kya, co-starring Rajkummar Rao, was earlier scheduled to release on March 29. Kangana, however, requested makers to postpone the film so as to maintain a proper gap between Mental Hai Kya and her last release Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi.
The new release date of Mental Hai Kya, thus, was announced on Wednesday as June 21 as the makers also shared a motion poster of the film. Directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, very few details have been made available about the plot of Mental Hai Kya.
Meanwhile, Kabir Singh makers had announced the release date of the film in April as June 21. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Kabir Singh is a remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Shahid appears as the rash Kabir Singh, who is a staunch alcoholic and chain smoker with severe anger-management issues. Kiara Advani co-stars in the film.
Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut worked together in 2017’s Rangoon.
