Glad you are not letting the opinions of occasional actors and chronic victims affect you: Randeep Hooda backs Alia Bhatt against Kangana Ranaut

Randeep Hooda who worked with Alia Bhatt in her second film Highway is all praise for her work and demeanour. The actor posted on Twitter lauding Alia ‘for not letting the opinions of very occasional actors and chronic victims' affect her work’. He obviously meant Kangana Ranaut who has been attacking Alia for a while now. Kangana had alleged that Alia does not speak up on national issues and never supported Kangana’s film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Kangana had also called Alia Karan Johar’s puppet and recently when she won an online poll for Best Actress beating Alia’s performance in Gully Boy she had called the latter’s performance as ‘mediocre’.

Randeep’s tweet was replied in kind by Alia as well, but a lot of Twitterati felt that he was doing it for publicity and to gain access into Dharma Productions camp. Alia had kept silence on Kangana’s accusations and even gone ahead and said that if Kangana feels her performance in Gully Boy was not up to the mark she will try her best to better herself.

Earlier in an interview, when Kangana was asked about beating Alia she had said, “I am embarrassed...What is there to beat in Gully Boy Performance ....same snappy muh phat girl... Bollywood's idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media has taken filmy kids love too far...stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised."

On the other hand, Alia had responded with, “Listen, I definitely don't have the ability to speak as candidly as Kangana does and I really really respect her for that. And may be in a way she is right that sometimes we do hold back. Kyunki hum nahi chahte ke, khamakha kyun bolna... My dad always says that there are already so many opinions in the world that the world could do with one less opinion. So, I have an opinion but I will keep it to myself. But kudos to her because she genuinely speaks really well."

Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel had also attacked Alia and her mother Soni Razdan for possessing British passports. Soni had received a lot of backlash for sharing a misleading tweet on Junaid Khan and urging voters to remember him before they vote. She later deleted her tweet after being informed about the High Court’s ruling that Junaid was killed not because he was Muslim but because of a different scuffle.
