Amitabh Bachchan’s father Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan would’ve loved watching Badla because of its ‘poetic justice’

Amitabh Bachchan is excited about the release of his new film Badla and said that his father Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan would have loved to watch the Sujoy Ghosh-directed film. Big B had said previously that his father loved watching his films because they had ‘poetic justice in two-and-a-half hours’ and while speaking to a leading website, the 76-year-old actor wished that Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan could watch Badla as well.

“Yes. Indeed the charm of cinema in India is that they all profess ‘poetic justice.’ And, due respects, it's Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He did his PhD in English literature from Cambridge, and got his Doctorate,” Big B told the website.

Badla released today and co-stars Taapsee Pannu as the senior actor said that he decided to sign up for the film because of “the story, the plot and the director Sujoy Ghosh.”

In Badla, Big B, cast as lawyer Badal Gupta, helps Taapsee’s character after she is seemingly embroiled in a murder. The film also stars Manav Kaul and Amrita Singh and is an official remake of the Spanish film The Invisible Guest.
