On February 27, the Indian Air Force conducted air strikes in Pakistan’s Balakot as a response to the Pulwama terror attack on February 14. In its aftermath, our neighbouring country show down an IAF MiG-21, and the pilot, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, was taken into custody. After being detained for over 48 hours, Abhinandan was finally sent back to India on March 1.
Amidst this, several Bollywood stars welcomed him and hailed India’s fight against terrorism. Actress Huma Qureshi too stated her ways on social media and urged India and Pakistan to figure a way towards peace and not war. However, it did not go well down with senior journalist Amish Devgan, who slammed her for not understanding the entire issue.

Soon after, the actress defended herself by saying that she might not understand the issue but she would still urge PM Narendra Modi and the Indian government to find peaceful solutions. To which, Amish replied by saying, "Pakistan is also saying that India wants war, so by your tweets, u give ammunition to them."

Meanwhile, Indian filmmaker and social activist Ashoke Pandit too retaliated to Huma's tweet by saying that the decision to react lies with the soldiers and not with her.
