Salman Khan will reportedly start shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film in September after wrapping Dabangg 3

Salman Khan will begin shooting for his film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in September this year after wrapping the third instalment of Dabangg, a leading daily reports. The 53-year-old actor was supposed to start filming the Hindi remake of Korean film Veteran (a cop film) after Dabangg 3 but sources told the daily that Salman isn’t willing to work on cop films one after the other and hence agreed to begin shoot for Bhansali’s film in September.

“Salman wasn’t keen on doing back-to-back cop films. That’s why he gave the nod to Bhansali’s love story that will help him break away from his larger-than-life image and is being readied for a 2020 release. The yet-untitled action thriller will now go on the floors in the first quarter of next year,” a source was quoted as saying by the daily.

Salman and Bhansali will reunite after 12 years for the film and reports suggest that it might be titled Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam 2. The film isn’t a remake or a sequel to the 1999 film but considering the fact that Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam 2 has “all the elements” of the first part, the title appears to be fit for the film.

As for the remake of Veteran, the report states that the film, loaded with high-octane action sequences, will be shot abroad. Atul Agnihotri and his CEO Nikhil Namit have bought the rights of the Korean film. It will begin filming after Salman gives the go-ahead. “Unlike Dabangg, this one will be majorly shot abroad with Salman stepping away from the conventional khakee avatar. It’s a big budget project and international stunt teams will design the action,” the source added.

Salman Khan, meanwhile, wrapped his Eid release Bharat, co-starring Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani and Sunil Grover. Bharat is an official adaptation of 2014 South Korean film Ode To My Father.
