Mukesh Ambani’s and Nita Ambani’s eldest son Akash Ambani is all set to tie the knot with Shloka Mehta, daughter of diamantaire Russell and Mona Mehta on March 9 and the preparations for the grand wedding has already begun. After Mukesh and Nita offered their son’s first wedding invite at the Siddhivinayak Temple, the wedding card went viral on the internet for its class, elegance, and extravagance. Now, as per the media reports, the Ambani family is getting international band Maroon 5 to perform at the couple’s sangeet.
The buzz is that vocalist Adam Levine, keyboardists Jesse Carmichael and PJ Morton, bassist Mickey Madden and guitarist James Valentine might regale the Ambani guests with their performance on the sangeet ceremony to be held on March 8. Apparently, Maroon 5 is one of the favourite bands of the bride and groom. A leading tabloid reported a source that said, “While Akash’s favourite track is Sugar, Shloka loves Moves Like Jagger. Naturally, these two chartbusters have found a place in the set that the band is putting together for their gig. They are expected to perform for almost 40 minutes with other hits like She Will Be Loved, Makes Me Wonder and One More Night on the playlist. The team of sound designers that frequently works with Maroon 5 is coming down from Canada to check on the arrangements.”

The source also told the tabloid that the group charges anywhere between $1-1.5 million, which is approximately Rs 7-10 crore. The wedding is supposed to take place at Jio Gardens in Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. Maroon 5 has never performed in India and in all probability, this will be their first concert in India but obviously for only a select few.

Mukesh had roped in Beyonce to sing at his daughter Isha Ambani’s wedding last year. In fact, several top-notch celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Abhishek Bachchan performed at her sangeet ceremony too. Isha is married to Anand Piramal. According to reports, around 500 prolific families including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar have jetted off to a three-day pre-wedding bash to St Moritz in Switzerland.
