Role Reversal: Kriti Sanon to play the lead in French film Point Blank’s Hindi remake by Shashanka Ghosh?

Kriti Sanon is the new diva on the block. The actress’ film Bareilly Ki Barfi was the game changer for her career which got her some incredibly lucrative films. Now, the buzz is that she has been roped in for yet another coveted project which will see her kick some ass too. According to a trade portal, Kriti has been roped in to play the lead in Shashanka Ghosh’s Hindi remake of French film, Point Blank. The film is supposed to go on floors by the end of the year.

The film is produced by Azure Entertainment and the scripting process is underway to match the Indian sensibilities. As reported by the trade website, Kriti is the only one signed for the project as of now and the casting for other roles is underway. The makers have tweaked the original premise of the film to suit a female lead. Kriti will be seen doing some intense action scenes in the film which will be a first for her.

Point Blank (A Bout Portant) was released in 2010 and is an action thriller directed by Fred Cavayé. It starred Gilles Lellouche, Roschdy Zem, Gérard Lanvin, and Elena Anaya. The film revolves around one man’s predicament of saving his wife from her kidnappers while being chased by dirty cops and killers. It will be really interesting to see how Shashanka manages to tweak the storyline to make it a female-driven film and see Kriti do justice to the hard-hitting role.
