Karan Johar’s life couldn’t get better after the birth of his children – twins Yash and Roohi – but the filmmaker, during a chat show, admitted that being a single parent is considerably difficult, rather “daunting and scary.” Along with Ranveer Singh, Karan appeared on a chat show during which the filmmaker’s mother Hiroo Johar asked him about the most difficult thing about being a single parent.
"Being a single parent is really daunting and scary. Because I think it takes a mother and a father to complete the upbringing of a child. In many ways you could say that having Yash and Roohi is full of love but it is also a selfish decision. It is because I want that love for myself. There was a large empty space in my life that needed to be filled by children,” KJo said, a leading website reports.

Moreover, Karan said that he is parenting Yash and Roohi with his mother since the children call Hiroo Johar ‘mama’ instead of ‘daadi’. "Oddly, they call me dad and call my mom 'mama'. They don't call her daadi. Because I feel we are co-parenting them. So I am trying very hard that both of us fulfil the roles of mother and a father completely,” he added.

Yash and Roohi were born to Karan Johar via surrogacy in 2017. Last week, Karan celebrated Yash and Roohi’s second birthday, which was attended by celebrities including Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan while starkids – Taimur and Misha were also there.
Karan Johar is a celebrated director of films such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and My Name Is Khan.
