It is not an unknown fact that there have been several speculations about Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra collaborating with Shahid Kapoor. But nothing was confirmed until now. The filmmaker recently spoke to a leading daily about how he feels there's a DNA match with actor Shahid Kapoor and how they would love to do a film together.
The director also confirmed the buzz that he is in talks with Shahid Kapoor for future collaboration. “Shahid and I really want to do a film together. He’s such a fabulous actor and someone I feel I would have so much fun working with. With him, it’s like finding a DNA match. Conversations are on and I think we will be able to reach a common point if things work out,” he said.

Speaking about the kind of films he wants to experiment with in the future, he reveals, “I want to make a film on the farmers in our country, an action caper around Indian mythology and I also want to get into the costume drama space.”
Meanwhile, Rakeysh's Mere Pyare Prime Minister is all set to release on March 15, 2019. The film deals with the social issue of open defecation. It stars the national award-winning actress Anjali Patil who is playing the role of the mother. The music of the film is given by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics by Gulzar.
