Alia Bhatt is on a spending spree, purchases third property in Mumbai for double the price?

Alia Bhatt has purchased an apartment in a posh locality in Mumbai’s Juhu worth Rs 13.11 crore, a leading daily reports. Located on the first floor, it is a 2,300 square feet apartment, the ready reckoner rate of which was Rs 7.86 crore and yet, she bought the property by paying double the amount, according to the report.

Ready reckoner rate is referred to the amount fixed by the state government annually for properties across the state. On the basis of the reckoner rate, stamp duties are collected. In the event of a property being bought at a price higher than the ready reckoner rate, stamp duties collected from it subsequently increase. Alia, thus, paid a stamp duty of Rs 65.55 lakh for her Juhu flat, according to the report. Two open car parking spaces have been allotted to her as well along with the flat.

Of Alia’s property, Sangeet Hemant Kumar, an employee of real estate company SHK Ventures, told the daily, "There's a premium attached to these properties and going by the rate, the price that Bhatt paid for this property isn't very high. The property is exactly like a house a celebrity would like to invest in.”

Rumours are rife that this is the third apartment that Alia has purchased in Mumbai so far.

Workwise, Alia Bhatt, last seen in a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s December release Zero, will appear next in Gully Boy, Kalank and Brahmastra.
