MeToo wave has actually jolted the country and especially Bollywood as many known personalities from the industry have been alleged of sexual misconduct and harassment. The torchbearer of this movement is Tanushree Dutta who accused actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss, a 2008-released film and ever since many victims have come out of the closet and called out their harassers.
The recent one was director Rajkumar Hirani, who was riding high on the success of his last release Sanju until he was called out for sexual misconduct a fortnight back. According to a report in HuffPost India, a woman assistant director accused that Hirani behaved badly with her, not once but on multiple occasions during the filming of Sanju.

Casting director Rohan Mapuskar, who had ventured nine years ago into films with Hirani with 3 Idiots and Lage Raho Munna Bhai has also come to his support. In an interview with a website, Mapuskar said that these allegations are not convincing at all for Hirani as he was too good with his assistants. “We never paid attention to these things. We have worked with this person for nine years. And if something hasn't happened in front of us, I won't be able to believe that the person is like this. It's not like I have worked with him only as a casting director. I have also been an AD to him on the sets. So, the man who has always spoken so nicely with his assistants, mujhe nahi lagta ye sab cheeze vishwaas karne waali hai," cleared Rohan.
While Hirani has firmly denied the accusations, few celebrities too have come to his support. Karishma Tanna, Javed Akhtar, Sharman Joshi, and Raageshwari are the ones who have backed the filmmaker while many others have chosen to stay mum on the issue.
