Aanand L Rai isn't 'disappointed' with Zero's failure; It will help me grow as a director, he says

Aanand L Rai's ambitious project Zero, starring Shah Rukh Khan as a vertically-challenged man, failed to impress fans and critics but the director said that he isn't disappointed with the failure of the film. While speaking to a news agency, Aanand said that Zero was a film that he intended to add to his resume since a really long period of time.

Instead of lamenting over its failure, Aanand said, he wants to understand what went wrong with Zero.

“I won’t say I am disappointed. I will need to understand (what went wrong). This is the story I wanted to say and I made it. After making Ranjhaanaa and Tanu Weds Manu and the second one, this film (Zero) was due for me to make. To take a certain flight and I have not landed on it properly, " Aanand told a news agency.

Aanand, in fact, also added that Zero's failure is a learning experience for him and it will help him grow as a director. “It is a learning and it will help me grow as a director. I am not afraid to take risks and experiment,” Rai told PTI when asked if he was disappointed," Aanand added.

Zero also starred Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The film released on December 2018 and managed to earn slightly above Rs 90 crore at the box office.
