Confirmed: Vivek Oberoi to play Narendra Modi in PM's biopic; Maharashtra CM to unveil first look on January 7

It's confirmed. Vivek Oberoi will play the role of Narendra Modi in the Prime Minister's biopic while a leading daily reports that the makers will unveil the first look on January 7 as the event will be attended by Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis. In December, though, PeepingMoon had reported that Vivek was roped in to play PM Modi in the biopic after Paresh Rawal quit the project.

"Sandeep (Ssingh, producer) and Vivek came up with the idea of roping in the CM for the unveiling. When the makers approached him, he readily agreed," the report quoted a source as saying.

The report also states that the poster of the biopic will be launched in 23 different languages at the Garware Club House in Mumbai. "Apart from Vivek's look, the makers, it is expected, will also announce the release date," the source added.

The biopic is expected to begin filming in January while the source also said that Vivek's different looks are being chalked out at present. Most of the film will be shot in Gujarat apart from other states in India.

"The team acquired the necessary permissions to go forth with the film only a few weeks ago. Vivek has been working on his distinct looks, and will be part of extensive workshops. A big chunk of the film will be shot in Gujarat, apart from other states," the source said.
