Veteran actor Vinod Khanna’s former wife Geetanjali Khanna has died after suffering from a heart ailment on December 15, a leading daily reports. She was 70. Geetanjali died at her Alibaug residence while the exact cause of her death hasn’t been ascertained as yet. With Vinod Khanna, Geetanjali has two sons, actors Akshaye and Rahul Khanna.
Reports suggest that Geetanjali along with Rahul and Akshaye frequently visited their farmhouse in Mandwa and arrived there on Saturday morning. However, she complained of uneasiness in the afternoon following which she was taken to a doctor.

After returning from the doctor’s clinic, Geetanjali was fast asleep. Akshaye checked on her at night and noticed that her temperature had dropped drastically and immediately took her to the Alibaug Civil Hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
Geetanjali Khanna’s funeral was held on December 16. Vinod Khanna died in 2017 after battling cancer. Vinod and Geetanjali married in 1971 and divorced in 1985.
Vinod Khanna is the star of films Mere Apne, Insaaf, Parvarish, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Qurbani, Dayavaan, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Chandni, The Burning Train and Amar, Akbar, Anthony. He also pursued a political career as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member of the Lok Sabha from Punjab's Gurdaspur constituency and had also been a Union Minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
