Was wonderful as parent to share Mowgli with Aaradhya: Abhishek

Actor Abhishek Bachchan, who has voiced the character of Bagheera in the Hindi version of Mowgli: Legend Of the Jungle, says it was wonderful for him as a parent to be able to share this story with his daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.

Asked what's his fondest memory of 'The Jungle Book', Abhishek told IANS here: "Most of people my age will probably tell you of the original cartoon film and that's pretty much my generation's childhood was spent singing a lot of those songs and re-enacting a lot of those scenes."

"It was wonderful for me today as a parent to able to share that story with my daughter. It was really nice."

Abhishek says the interpretation of the classic, which released globally on the streaming site Netflix on Friday, have come out and it is nice.

"To give something which is more contemporary and something they might be able to associate with. Today's generation is very aware and mature than what we were at that age... So, I am not sure the original 'The Jungle Book' story which was made into a cartoon would appeal to them anymore. They might find it a little infantile," he said.

Directed by Andy Serkis, Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle is a layered interpretation of author Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book.

"I think what is wonderful about Mowgli is that it's a representation of Kipling's story which appeals to today' youth," Abhishek added.
