When Sara ‘hung out’ with dad Saif Ali Khan’s co-star Deepika Padukone on the sets of Love Aaj Kal

Considering the fact that Sara Ali Khan’s family has been associated with the film industry for decades, it shouldn’t be surprising to note that she has spent a stipulated amount of time on the sets of films. Sara, daughter of Saif Ali Khan and his former wife Amrita Singh, told a leading daily during an interview that she ‘messed around’ with her mother’s hairdresser on the sets of Kalyug and also had a great time with her dad’s co-star Deepika Padukone on the sets of Love Aaj Kal.

“I have been on the set of Kalyug (2005) once, and I remember that I was messing around with my mom's hairdresser. I have been on the Love Aaj Kal (2009) set, too, where I hung out with Deepika (Padukone) and Anaita Shroff Adajania. Believe it or not, that's it. The first active memory of being on a film set was watching Sushant Singh Rajput shoot on day one of the Kedarnath schedule. Seeing him doing the same thing again and again (there is a close shot, wide shot, master shot and more), I was like... 'Oh, aise hota hai? Iss liye toh alag alag dikhta hai.' It was really like that,” Sara told the daily.

Sara is all set to make her debut in Bollywood with Kedarnath opposite Sushant, and will also appear in Simmba, co-starring Ranveer Singh. Meanwhile, Sara also spoke about her parents during the interview and said that she discusses every aspect of her life with her mother since she lives with her. “My mom is my best friend,” Sara told the daily, adding that she is “extremely close” to her dad as well. Saif and Amrita divorced in 2004.

“My father often says that we are friends. I don't like saying that, because he can't be my friend, as there is way too much respect and adulation in our equation. He's my friend, plus all that. We are open about all other conversations. I was a tad bit more scared of mom while growing up, also, because I live with her, she had to be the disciplinarian. Even now, I am scared of her, but the shape of fear has changed. At 16, I was scared that my mom would shout at me if I went home late, but now, it's the eternal fear of disappointing her. She is my whole world. Both mom and dad have given me everything that I could have dreamt of, so I don't want to disappoint them,” Sara told the daily.

Saif is married to Kareena Kapoor since 2012 and Taimur, their first child together, was born in 2016. As far as Sara is concerned, Kedarnath is scheduled to release on December 7 and Simmba releases on December 28.
