Newlywed actress Deepika Padukone occupied a spot in the top five on the Forbes India Celebrity 100 list with earnings of Rs 112.8 crore, placing her firmly at rank 4. What's more, she is the first woman celebrity to find place in the top five, thanks to the commercial success of her last film Padmaavat, and her brand endorsements. She has also been in the news for her wedding with Ranveer Singh.
The next celebrity woman following her on the list is Alia Bhatt, who holds the 12th position with the earnings of Rs 58.83 crore this year. She impressed the fans with her acting in Raazi and has films like Takht and Brahmastra in the pipeline. Following her is Anushka Sharma at the 16th position with total earnings of Rs 45.83 crore. Apart from then, shuttler PV Sindhu occupies the 20th position with Rs 35.50 crore earnings while Katrina Kaif is at number 21 with total earnings of Rs 33.67 crore. Moreover, unexpectedly so, Priyanka Chopra grabs the 49th position with earnings of only Rs 18 crore this year.

Interestingly, actress Nayanthara, whose earnings stand at Rs 15.17 crore, is the only woman from the South Indian film industry to make it to the list, following the success of her dark comedy, Kolamavu Kokila and the thriller Aramm.
The 2018 Forbes India Celebrity 100 List rankings takes the period from October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018 under consideration for the final evaluation.
