Irrfan reportedly celebrated Diwali with family in India but didn't perform puja at Nashik

Irrfan, currently undergoing treatment for a neuroendocrine tumour in London, celebrated Diwali with family in India, his representative said, a leading website reports. His representative added that the 51-year-old actor was in the country for a week and made the most of his time with his family.

Several reports, in fact, claimed earlier this month that Irrfan would be performing puja at a temple in Nashik during his visit to his farmhouse but his rep refuted rumours as such and reiterated that Irrfan was with his family throughout.

In March, Irrfan upset his fans after revealing on Twitter that he had contracted a “rare disease”, requesting everybody to refrain from speculating further while he promised to provide an update on his health.

Soon after, Irrfan, on Twitter, disclosed the “rare disease” and also asked his fans and followers to send across good wishes for him. “Learning that I have been diagnosed with NeuroEndocrine Tumour as of now has now has admittedly been difficult, but the love and strength of those around me and that I found within me has brought me to a place of hope. The journey of this is taking me out of the country, and I request everyone to continue sending their wishes,” Irrfan wrote in his tweet.

Earlier in August, Irrfan said that he will not be able to shoot for the series Gormint (formerly known as Ministry) due to his “ongoing situation”. It was one of his most favourite ongoing projects, he said in a post on Facebook.
