It was nothing short of a herculean task for Akshay Kumar to get his look in place with the help of prosthetics for his upcoming film 2.0. During a press meet in Mumbai on November 26, Akshay said that his six-year-old daughter Nitara Bhatia often accompanied him on set and observed him while his team dressed him up – the process occupied over three hours of his time.
Nitara, however, wasn’t scared to watch her father in his Dr. Richard look as Akshay said, “No, Nitara didn’t get scared because when they were applying make-up on me, she was present there. So, she knew that something was happening to her father.”
When asked about his first reaction seeing himself in that look Akshay quipped, "I clicked a lot many selfies. My family was there with me so I clicked selfies with each one. Nitara and Aarav were very happy."

Speaking of the prosthetics, Akshay also said that it was tiring enough as the procedure required him to sit patiently for hours while removing the costumes from his body after filming was equally harrowing.
“It was very hard and tough to sit quietly at one place for 3.5 hours. Three people are working on your body and you just have to sit patiently. I am very patient but I became more subtle and mellowed. You don’t have to do anything but just sit for 3.5 hours. Whatever has to be done, will be done by them. After shooting, they will come for 1.5 hours to remove everything from my body and. The point is that you are going to sleep at night and once you wake up in the morning, you have to do the same thing again,” he added.

What’s worse is the fact that Akshay wasn’t allowed to eat while the prosthetics were put on him and was on a liquid diet.
“This, I did, continuously for 38-40 days. So that was a painful process. Plus the process of putting all this up and coming to the sets. The pores in my body couldn’t breathe. There’s no oxygen because everything is packed. So, I used to work for 5-6 hours and all the sweat used to remain packed in my body. There was no other way for it to come out. And I still remember that when I used to take off the costume, my whole body used to smell of sweat. Plus you cannot eat, because the costume has been made as per your body. You have to be on a liquid diet – only milkshakes, juices and water was allowed,” Akshay said.
2.0 is a science fiction-action film written and directed by S. Shankar, co-written by B. Jeyamohan, and produced by A. Subaskaran. The film serves as a sequel to the 2010 Tamil film Enthiran, while Rajinikanth will reprise his role of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti in it.
2.0 is set for a worldwide theatrical release on November 29.
