Mohnish Bahl to make his comeback in Bollywood with Arjun Kapoor-Kriti Sanon starrer Panipat

Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker is all geared to make yet another historical movie, which will tell the story of what led to the third Battle of Panipat, which took place on January 14, 1761. The upcoming project, titled Panipat, features and ensemble cast including Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon. It will be produced by Ashutosh's wife Sunita Gowariker under their home banner AGPPL in association with Rohit Shelatkar's Vision World.

Now adding to the excitement, we hear that renowned television and film actor Mohnish Bahl, who was last seen in 2014 action drama Jai Ho alongside Salman Khan, has been roped in to play a pivotal role in Panipat. As per a report in a leading daily, Mohnish will be seen portraying the role of Nana Saheb aka Balaji Baji Rao, a Maratha Peshwa (Prime Minister).

Interestingly, Mohnish’s character is the cousin of Arjun’s Maratha army leader Sadashiv Rao Bhau and husband to Padmini Kolhapure’s Gopikabai. Talking about it, Sunita revealed, "Nana Saheb is a multilayered character and Mohnish, an immensely talented and versatile actor, comes with years of experience. He has never failed to impress with his performance."

Additionally, Sanjay will reportedly play the character of Ahmad Shah Durrani who was the reason behind the victory of Afghans while Kriti will be seen as Sadashivrao’s second wife Parvatibai.

Panipat, which is expected to be high on action, is slated to release on December 6, 2019. The lead actors have begun their prep for the period film with Arjun and Kriti even taking horse-riding lessons as the film is scheduled to roll this month.
