Saif Ali Khan will only offer a film to daughter Sara if she ‘faces trouble in her career’

Saif Ali Khan’s next film, which will be supervised by his home production, is based on a father’s relationship with his daughter but the actor is not too keen on casting his daughter Sara in the project, and in turn, playing her dad in it. While speaking to a leading daily, Saif was asked if he is okay with co-starring in his home production with Sara but he said that he doesn’t want to do a film with her. His reason is completely valid, though.

"No. It was a nice idea, but acting is a very selfish business. You don't want to act with your daughter, because you'd be worried about how she's feeling all the time. The only time I'll offer her a film is when I feel she is facing trouble in her career,” Saif told the daily.

Sara was expected to make her debut with Kedarnath in Bollywood but the release date of the film has been reportedly rescheduled to March 2019. Her first film, thus, will be Rohit Shetty’s Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh. The film has been co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and will release in December.

“If she didn't have a Karan Johar film or Kedarnath, I'd offer her a father-daughter story to help, but if she's okay with Dharma and I am happy, Karan can be her father. Sara is already a good person; I want her to enjoy being an artiste and an actor,” Saif added.

Sara, 25, is Saif’s first child with former wife, actress Amrita Singh.

Saif, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of his new film Baazaar. Directed by Gauravv K Chawla, Baazaar will release on October 26.
