The #MeToo movement that has started in India after Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment and intimidation made several women come out and name their perpetrators. In the recent wake standup comedian, Utsav Chakraborty who was associated with popular comedy group All India Bakchod (AIB) was also named and shamed as a sexual offender who sent lewd pictures and comments to women including minors. Last week, AIB even issued an apology accepting the fact that Tanmay Bhat knew about the allegations before the woman went public but still chose to ignore them and kept on working with Utsav.
Gursimran Khamba one of the founding quartets of AIB has also been accused of sexual misconduct on social media. Now, in a fresh statement that AIB shared on their social media accounts today, they have decided that Tanmay and Gursimran will be stepping away from the company in lieu of the allegations heaped on them. Ashish Shakya, Rohan Joshi, and other senior team members will work towards being able to answer the question of the fate of AIB over the next several months.

AIB is not the only one to crumble, Phantom Films have also been disbanded as Vikas Bahl one of the founders and owners of the production company was accused of sexual harassment by a female employee. He had already been stripped of signatory rights quite some time back but now the partners Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena and Vikramaditya Motwane chose to go their separate ways.
