Remember how Amitabh Bachchan got mercilessly trolled for diplomatically dodging the Tanushree Dutta-Nana Patekar question at the Thugs of Hindostan press conference last week? The Big B was viciously attacked by many including the actress for refusing to take a stand on the burning topic. Now a fake news hack practicing yellow journalism has mischievously tried to create misinformation by dragging Akshay Kumar into the same controversy.
What the fake news journo has done is upload a doctored video showing the Bollywood superstar chastising a media person at a press conference for asking his opinion on the Tanushree Dutta sexual harassment issue. Bollywood has been split down the middle by those taking Tanushree’s side and those backing Nana. But Akshay, who is shooting for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 4 in Jaisalmer with Nana, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol and others, has been politically correct and quietly stayed out of it.

What the fake news hack did was fraudulently use video content from a press conference held in Mumbai last June where Akshay launched the nutraceutical anti-cancer product Svarn Sathi under the government’s Swasth Bharat initiative. He was asked there about the film Good News for Dharma Productions in which he will be acting with Kareena Kapoor Khan after many years. But Akshay declined to comment. Instead, he politely advised the journalist to ask this question at a Bollywood-related event.
The fake news mastermind deleted the original question in this video and introduced his own as a voiceover in which he is heard asking Akshay about Tanushree’s allegation against Nana. This hoax video was uploaded on YouTube to increase online readership and Internet click revenues. Fake news is mainly done to destroy reputations or make financial/political gains by using sensational headlines and fabricated news. But not this time. Akshay Kumar was unavailable for comment but it is believed that action is being taken against the fake news site.
