Post the stupendous success of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, Deepika Padukone has been away from the silver screen. With rumours of her marriage emerging every now and then, it seems the actress is planning her next project carefully. A few days ago, PeepingMoon.com was the first one to report that Deepika has finally given her nod to Raazi director Meghna Gulzar’s next project.

According to a leading daily, the recent development suggests that the actress is completely focused on launching her production house under which she will produce the film. Slated to go on floors next year, this untitled film will see both Deepika and Meghna turning producers.

Reportedly, the film is a female-centric story and speculations are rife that it is based on the real-life story of acid attack victim Lakshmi who not only survived the attack but also underwent nine corrective surgeries. She has become a beacon of hope to many acid victims for her strength and positivity.

However, Deepika was earlier cast opposite Irrfan Khan in Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming film Sapna Didi but due to the actor’s ill-health, the film has been postponed indefinitely. Sapna Didi was a feared name in the mafia world. She was married to a man who worked under Dawood Ibrahim but when Dawood got her husband killed in a police encounter, she took upon herself to seek revenge. Apparently, Deepika has also returned the signing amount of the film in question to Bhardwaj. On the personal front, Deepika is expected to tie the knot with her longtime beau Ranveer Singh in November.
