With Daan Utsav to be held between October 2-8, Alia Bhatt’s fashion charity initiative Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe will be set to get displayed for the second time. The initiative launched in May, is about sharing handpicked clothes from Alia’s personal closet. Prior to this, the exclusive outfits were on display at the Stylecracker Night Market in Mumbai.
The amount collected after sales were sent to make provision to contribute eco-friendly solar lamps to economically backward families in Kikkeri, Karnataka. This year, the profit earned from this will be utilized to support The Corbett Foundation, a not-for-profit that works with local communities to protect wildlife.
Considering the positive response towards Wardrobe 1, Alia decided to share her wardrobe once again and extend support to help the environment and support animal welfare.
“Daan Utsav is all about celebrating giving and is an opportunity to contribute your time, money, materials or skills to a cause that you feel passionate about. The wardrobe will be hosted online on SaltScout this time, giving people all over the country and the world a chance to purchase garments and shoes from my closet and support the work of The Corbett Foundation”, Alia added.
Alia further added that with the help of Coexist, an ecological movement, she is trying her best to spread awareness about animal welfare. "Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe is one way to help the planet and look great while you're at it !" said Alia, signing off.
