Bharat Ke Veer, an initiative in the form of an online portal, was launched by Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Akshay on April 9, 2017. It aims to facilitate online donations directly to the families of paramilitary troopers who have sacrificed their lives for the country in the line of duty.

Since Bharat Ke Veer has now been exempted from taxes, Akshay added: “Yes, because it’s tax-free, obviously more people will come forward. My dream is now to even get people and families whose son or father or brother have lost their limbs, on Bharat Ke Veer... Woh bhi haqdaar hain (They, too, are deserving). You can expand only when the money flow is more from the civilians’ side.”

In his career spanning over two decades, Akshay has garnered a massive fan following with not just his extraordinary choice of films but he is also considered as a people’s man for championing societal issues including women’s empowerment as well as the distraught condition of farmers in the country apart from acknowledging the selflessness of the army.

Workwise, Akshay, last seen in Gold will star next in Rajinikanth’s 2.0, Kesari and Housefull 4.
