Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was honoured with the inaugural Meryl Streep Award for Excellence at the first Women in Film and Television (WIFT) India Awards in Washington on September 6. The 44-year-old actress was accompanied by her daughter Aaradhya at the event, which was held at the Hyatt Regency. Soon after the event, pictures of Aishwarya and Aaradhya were circulated by fan clubs much to our delight.

After the ceremony, Aishwarya, glamorous in an Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla dress, posed for the paparazzi with her daughter. We simply loved Aishwarya’s black pleated dress with gold embellishments while Aaradhya looked adorable in a white frock and a pretty hair accessory.

Aishwarya received the award for showcasing a 'distinction in her craft and for expanding the role of women within the entertainment industry’, as explained in a statement issued on behalf of WIFT India.

Apart from Aishwarya, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar also received the Wyler Award for Excellence in Direction while Janhvi Kapoor was honoured with the WIFT Emerald Award. Janhvi, daughter of filmmaker Boney Kapoor and veteran actress Sridevi, made her debut in Bollywood with Dhadak in July. For the event, Janhvi looked stunning in a Reem Acra outfit while her stylist Tanya Ghavri posted beautiful pictures of the actress on Instagram.
