Today as she celebrates her 24th birthday, Mira Rajput Kapoor is a celebrity in her own right. She has fans and fan clubs dedicated to her. Mira isn’t just Shahid Kapoor’s wife or the mother to their daughter Misha and new-born son. She has been a voice for womanhood and motherhood and speaks her mind. While she stayed away from the public eye for over a year after the wedding, Mira only went ahead to conquer the world.

It was on Karan Johar’s Koffee with Karan that Mira made her first appearance. Mira made sure that nothing seemed “off” about her presence. She was graceful, charming and witty enough to get the right attention. Post that, she went on to attend multiple forums as a speaker and was a part of press conferences. In fact, at the age of 22, Mira – who is happily a housewife – had her own public relations manager. In an interview with a leading daily, she was asked about this move and she said, “Because a lot has been said about me. I thought I should express myself and show them who I really am.”

Shahid is a well-known name in the industry because he has been working for 14 years, but Mira admits that “stardom” came to her rather easily. "It was a little difficult in the start" but now she is even open to the paparazzi following. Sometimes, she even smiles for them happily. The straight-talking Mira has also made headlines with her frank attitude, like the time she spoke about her sex-life on Neha Dhupia’s show BFFs with Vogue or tweeting Misha isn’t a puppy. Though she is outgoing Mira, prefers maintaining her own circle and living a cocooned life.

Earlier this year, she walked the ramp for ace designer Anita Dongre with her husband as the show stopper. Later, she even featured on the cover of Hello magazine. Last month, she endorsed a leading cosmetic brand by featuring in an advertisement – marking her acting debut. The makers of the show even complimented her by saying “she was so natural with the camera.” Well, that’s how we speculate that a big Bollywood debut might be on the cards in a few years.

In spite of all the hatred and criticism that comes her way, Mira Rajput Kapoor shines all along!
