Speculations were rife for long that Race 3 actress Jacqueline Fernandez was being considered to star opposite Kartik Aaryan for the Hindi remake of Kirik Party but no official announcement was made regarding the same. However, the makers have now confirmed that Jacqueline is indeed on board for the upcoming film, to be directed by Abhishek Jain and produced by Ajay Kapoor, Dheeraj Wadhwan, and Vrithika Laykar.
Ajay confirmed the news to a leading daily and said, "We are excited to have Jacqueline on board as she is someone the youth relates to and has an amazing screen presence. This is the first time Jacqueline and Kartik have been cast together and we are confident that the audience will enjoy watching this fresh pair."

Moreover, a source close to the development informed the daily, "Jacqueline really liked the script and gave her nod to the film. She even did a look test recently. They will begin workshops and readings soon."
For the unversed, Kirik Party is a romance set in the college campus and revolves around a gang of mischievous kid, led by Karna, a first-year engineering student, who falls in love with Saanvi, a final-year student. The film has already been made into Telugu after becoming a huge hit in Kannada. Now with the Hindi version in the works, Jacqueline will essay the role played by Rashmika Mandanna in its original version.
Interestingly, Kartik who is riding high on his last release Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has bagged this project after Luka Chuppi in which he stars opposite Kriti Sanon. Now with Jacqueline giving her nod to the film, it will be another fresh pairing on the big screen and we are certainly excited to witness their chemistry on screen.
The film is slated to go on floors in October.
