Mrunal Thakur joins John Abraham in Nikkhil Advani’s 'Batla House'

Television star Mrunal Thakur has become a popular name in Bollywood even before her debut film – Love Sonia hits the big screen. Right after Love Sonia, Mrunal will be seen alongside Hrithik Roshan in Super 30, for which she has wrapped up the shoot. And looks like, the girl is on a golden run indeed. Reportedly, Mrunal has bagged her third Bollywood project right opposite hunk John Abraham.

Nikkhil Advani and producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series have given hits like Airlift and Satyameva Jayate. Soon, they will begin working for yet another film Batla House, based on true events. While John Abraham’s central character was revealed earlier, now we learn that Mrunal will be seen alongside him. However, it is unknown if she stars as John’s leading lady in the film or in any other role.

Batla House is based on Delhi police’s encounter with the terrorist organization, Indian Mujahideen. It was DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav who led the operation and John will be stepping into his shoes. The director has ensured that the film will show three perspectives – one of the police, one of the witnesses and the real picture, considering the sensitivity of the subject.

Mrunal’s debut film is directed by Tabrez Noorani and stars Demi Moore, Anupam Kher, Manoj Bajpayee, Adil Hussain, Richa Chadha, Freida Pinto, Rajkummar Rao and Sai Tamhankar in the lead roles while she plays the titular characters. The film is slated to release in India on September 14. Her second film, Super 30, is based on the life of a mathematician (Anand Kumar) who helped students clear their IIT-JEE exams and will release in April 2019.

For the unversed, Mrunal forayed into TV with a television show Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan opposite Mohit Sehgal. After that, she was seen on Har Yug Mein Ayega Ek Arjun and also hosted a Hindi play called Do Fool Chaar Mali along with co-host Barun Sobti. However, her big TV break was Ekta Kapoor's telly soap Kumkum Bhagya, which shot her to overnight fame.
